Savage Arms | AXIS | .22-250 Remington | Bolt-Action Rifle | Camo Synthetic Stock | Bushnell 3-9x40 Scope The Savage AXIS is a modern American bolt-action sporting rifle developed by Savage Arms to provide hunters and shooting enthusiasts with a dependable, accurate, and affordable firearm. Introduced in 2010, the AXIS series built upon Savage's longstanding reputation for practical rifle design, incorporating features such as a rugged bolt-action mechanism, detachable box magazine, and lightweight synthetic stock. Savage Arms has been manufacturing firearms since 1894, earning a particularly strong reputation for its bolt-action hunting rifles. The AXIS series was developed as an economical alternative to the company's Model 110 family, offering a straightforward sporting rifle with many of the design characteristics that made Savage rifles popular among generations of American hunters. Chambered in .22-250 Remington, this rifle takes advantage of one of the most popular high-velocity centerfire varmint cartridges ever developed. Originally established as a wildcat cartridge before Remington standardized it in 1965, the .22-250 quickly gained popularity among varmint and predator hunters for its high velocity, flat trajectory, and accuracy. This example features a 22-inch barrel and receiver finished in a dark matte black, paired with a camouflage-pattern synthetic stock. The subdued, nonreflective metal finish complements the camouflage furniture, giving the rifle a practical sporting appearance. The rifle is equipped with a Bushnell 3-9x40mm riflescope, providing variable magnification suitable for recreational target shooting, varmint hunting, and general sporting applications. The scope's glass is clear. With its lightweight synthetic stock, versatile .22-250 Remington chambering, and mounted Bushnell optic, this Savage AXIS offers a practical combination of traditional bolt-action performance and modern sporting-rifle features.
