Savage Arms | Model 93R17 GV | .17 HMR | Bolt Action | 21" Heavy Barrel | Wood Stock The Savage Model 93R17 is part of Savage Arms' popular Model 93 series of bolt-action rimfire rifles, known for their accuracy, dependable operation, and practical sporting design. Savage Arms, founded in 1894, has a long history of producing American sporting firearms, and the Model 93 series has become particularly popular among small-game hunters, varmint shooters, and rimfire enthusiasts. Chambered in .17 Hornady Magnum Rimfire (.17 HMR), the Model 93R17 takes advantage of a high-velocity rimfire cartridge introduced in 2002. Developed by necking down the .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire case to accept a .17-caliber projectile, the .17 HMR gained popularity for its flat trajectory, accuracy, and effectiveness on small varmints. This example features a 21-inch heavy barrel with a matte-blued finish, paired with a traditional wood sporting stock. The heavy barrel provides additional rigidity and stability, making this configuration particularly appealing for precision-oriented rimfire shooting. The rifle's subdued matte finish complements the natural wood furniture, giving it a classic sporting appearance. Its configuration is consistent with the Savage 93R17 GV, a wood-stocked, heavy-barrel variation of the Model 93 series. The rifle is manufactured without traditional iron sights and features receiver provisions for mounting compatible scope rings and optics. Adding to its appeal, this example retains the original Savage factory sticker on the stock and original factory hang tag attached to the trigger guard.
