Introduced as a lighter alternative to Henry's brass-receiver Big Boy rifles, the Big Boy Steel offers a classic appearance with a practical configuration suited to hunting, target shooting, and recreational use. This example, serial number BBS005879, features the traditional blued steel receiver, 20" round barrel, and American walnut furniture associated with the Model H012. The rifle utilizes a tubular magazine with a factory capacity of 10 rounds and is chambered for both .44 Magnum and .44 Special ammunition. The rifle features a traditional straight-grip walnut stock and matching forearm, along with a rubber recoil pad. Its lever-action mechanism incorporates a transfer bar safety system, eliminating the need for a separate manual safety. The Model H012 was originally equipped with a brass-bead front sight and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight. This example is additionally fitted with a scope-mounting rail on top of the receiver, allowing for the installation of an optical sight. A black Quake Industries sling is also included.
