Manufactured by DPMS Panther Arms, the Oracle was developed as an affordable, optics-ready modern sporting rifle, combining traditional AR-platform operation with a lightweight, practical configuration. DPMS, originally established in 1985, became a recognized manufacturer of AR-pattern rifles, components, and accessories. The company's Panther Arms series included numerous configurations designed for recreational shooting, sporting applications, and general-purpose use. The Oracle A-15 became one of the company's most recognizable models, offering a straightforward AR-15 design with an emphasis on functionality and versatility. This example features a 16" barrel, black finish, and six-position adjustable synthetic buttstock. The rifle utilizes a traditional direct-impingement gas system with a rotating bolt and detachable box magazine. The Oracle's factory configuration includes a 4140 chrome-moly steel barrel with a 1:9" twist rate, designed for the 5.56 NATO cartridge.
