Ruger | Precision Rifle | 6.5 Creedmoor | Bolt-Action Rifle | 24" Barrel | 2017 The Ruger Precision Rifle (RPR) is an American-made, precision-oriented bolt-action rifle designed for long-range target shooting and competition. Introduced in 2015, the Ruger Precision Rifle quickly established itself as a popular option among precision rifle enthusiasts, combining an adjustable chassis system, heavy barrel, and modern sporting rifle ergonomics. This example is a 2017-manufactured Ruger Precision Rifle, Model 18008, chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. Model 18008 represents Ruger's second-generation Enhanced Precision Rifle, introduced in 2016 with several improvements over the original design, including a redesigned low-profile handguard, aluminum bolt shroud, and Ruger Hybrid Muzzle Brake. The rifle features a 24" cold hammer-forged barrel with 5R rifling and a 1:8" twist rate. Chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, it is designed around a cartridge known for its flat trajectory, efficient ballistic performance, and popularity in long-range shooting applications. The rifle's all-black configuration incorporates a precision-machined receiver, free-floating aluminum handguard, and Ruger Precision MSR adjustable folding stock. The stock provides adjustments for length of pull and comb height, allowing the rifle to accommodate different shooting positions and optics. The Ruger Precision Rifle utilizes a three-lug bolt with a 70-degree bolt throw, an oversized bolt handle, and Ruger's externally adjustable Marksman trigger. The receiver is equipped with a 20 MOA Picatinny optics rail, providing a mounting platform for long-range rifle scopes. The Enhanced model's Ruger Hybrid Muzzle Brake is designed to help manage recoil and muzzle movement. The rifle also features a detachable magazine system compatible with several common precision rifle magazine patterns. This example is accompanied by one detachable magazine.
