Winchester | Model 1873 Sporter | .45 Colt | Lever-Action Rifle | 24" Octagonal Barrel | Grade III/IV Walnut The Winchester Model 1873, famously known as “The Gun That Won the West,” is one of the most recognizable lever-action rifles in American firearms history. Originally introduced in 1873, the Model 1873 became a defining firearm of the American frontier and remains highly regarded among collectors and enthusiasts of traditional Winchester lever-action rifles. This modern-production Winchester Model 1873 Sporter is chambered in .45 Colt and features a 24" octagonal barrel, traditional lever-action operation, and attractive Grade III/IV walnut furniture. The rifle combines the classic appearance of the original Model 1873 with modern manufacturing and finishing techniques. The Model 1873 utilizes Winchester's historic toggle-link lever-action system, along with a tubular magazine and exposed hammer. Its distinctive receiver profile, sliding dust cover, and traditional controls closely follow the design of the original 19th-century rifle. This Sporter configuration features a polished blued barrel and receiver, complemented by a richly finished walnut buttstock and forearm. The 24" octagonal barrel gives the rifle the substantial, traditional appearance associated with Winchester's classic sporting rifles. Chambered in .45 Colt, this modern reproduction offers a popular cartridge choice for enthusiasts of traditional lever-action rifles and cowboy-action shooting. The rifle retains its original Winchester barrel sticker and is accompanied by its original factory box and paperwork.
