Rossi / Taurus | Circuit Judge | .45 Colt / .410 Bore | Revolving Rifle | Stainless Steel | 18.5" Barrel The Rossi Circuit Judge is a distinctive revolving-action rifle that combines the operating characteristics of a traditional double-action revolver with the handling and configuration of a shoulder-fired sporting firearm. Developed through the collaboration of Rossi and Taurus, the Circuit Judge is based on the popular Taurus Judge revolver platform and offers the versatility of firing both .45 Colt cartridges and .410 bore shotshells. Introduced around 2011, the Circuit Judge represents a modern interpretation of the revolving carbine, a firearm design with roots extending back to the 19th century. Its unusual configuration incorporates a full-length shoulder stock, extended barrel, and five-shot revolving cylinder, distinguishing it from conventional lever-action, bolt-action, and semi-automatic sporting rifles. This example features the desirable stainless steel configuration, with a bright silver-colored receiver, cylinder, and barrel. The contrasting reddish-brown hardwood stock and forearm provide a traditional appearance that complements the polished metalwork. The rifle is equipped with an 18.5" rifled barrel and a five-round swing-out cylinder. Its double-action/single-action operating system allows the exposed hammer to be manually cocked for single-action operation or fired through a double-action trigger pull. The Circuit Judge is chambered for .45 Colt ammunition and .410 bore shotshells, including 2½" and 3" .410 shells. The design incorporates a specialized interchangeable muzzle choke system, with different muzzle attachments intended for specific ammunition applications. Two choke tube inserts are included with this example. The rifle features a highly visible orange fiber-optic front sight paired with an adjustable rear sight incorporating green fiber-optic elements. This contrasting sight arrangement provides a distinctive and practical sight picture. Additional features of the Circuit Judge platform include a transfer bar safety system, a traditional shoulder stock with a Monte Carlo-style profile, and a revolver-style cylinder release. With its unusual revolving action, dual-ammunition capability, stainless steel construction, and traditional hardwood furniture, the Circuit Judge remains one of the more recognizable modern revolving rifles.
