Developed by FN, a manufacturer with a longstanding history of military, law enforcement, and commercial firearms production, the 309 MRD offers a contemporary handgun design suited to recreational shooting and personal protection. The FN 309 MRD utilizes an internal hammer-fired operating system, distinguishing it from the striker-fired designs commonly found in modern polymer-frame pistols. The pistol also incorporates a reduced slide-racking force, intended to make slide manipulation easier while maintaining a full-featured centerfire handgun configuration. This example features a 3.8" barrel, black-finished slide, and black polymer frame with textured gripping surfaces.
