Thompson/Center | Contender Super 14 | .30-30 Winchester | 14" Barrel | Burris 2-7x32 Handgun Scope The Thompson/Center Contender Super 14 is a well-known barrel configuration developed for the Contender's versatile single-shot, break-action handgun platform. Introduced in the late 1960s, the Contender became popular among handgun hunters, silhouette competitors, and precision shooters because of its interchangeable-barrel system and wide selection of available chamberings. The Super 14 barrel, introduced during the 1970s, provided a longer 14" barrel configuration intended to take advantage of the Contender's accuracy potential and suitability for handgun hunting and metallic silhouette shooting. This example is a Thompson/Center Contender Super 14 barrel chambered in .30-30 Winchester, a classic American centerfire cartridge originally introduced by Winchester in 1895. Although traditionally associated with lever-action rifles, the .30-30 Winchester became a popular chambering for the Contender, particularly among handgun hunters seeking rifle-cartridge performance in a single-shot pistol. The barrel is fitted with a wood forearm and a Burris Handgun 2-7x32 variable-power scope. Designed specifically for handgun applications, the Burris scope provides extended eye relief and adjustable magnification ranging from 2x to 7x. This combination offers a traditional Contender hunting configuration with a dedicated handgun optic. Offered as a complete scoped barrel assembly with forearm, this lot is intended for Contender owners interested in adding a classic .30-30 Winchester Super 14 configuration to their collection.
