Mossberg | 590 Shockwave | .410 Bore | 14" Barrel | Raptor Grip The Mossberg 590 Shockwave is an American-made, pump-action firearm built on Mossberg's proven 590 platform. Introduced in 2017, the Shockwave combines the rugged construction and reliability associated with Mossberg's 500-series firearms with a compact configuration featuring a short barrel and distinctive Raptor bird's-head grip. Manufactured by O.F. Mossberg & Sons in North Haven, Connecticut, the Shockwave was originally introduced in 12 gauge, with additional chamberings subsequently added to the lineup. The .410 bore version offers the same recognizable Shockwave design in a smaller-bore configuration. This example features a 14" cylinder-bore barrel with a matte black finish, synthetic forearm, and black Raptor grip. The distinctive bird's-head grip is designed to provide a compact overall profile while maintaining the firearm's characteristic Shockwave appearance. The Mossberg 590 platform utilizes a dual-action-bar pump mechanism, steel-to-steel bolt lockup, and an aluminum receiver. The Shockwave also incorporates Mossberg's familiar top-mounted tang safety, providing convenient access to the safety control. The .410 bore configuration features a 3" chamber and tubular magazine, allowing the use of both 2½" and 3" .410 shotshells.
