Kimber | Stainless LW | .45 ACP | 5" Barrel | Lightweight 1911 Pistol The Kimber Stainless LW is an American-made, full-size 1911-style semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45 ACP, combining the traditional design of John Moses Browning's Model 1911 with modern lightweight construction. Manufactured by Kimber Manufacturing, the Stainless LW offers the familiar handling characteristics of a full-size 1911 while reducing overall weight through the use of an aluminum frame. The LW (Lightweight) series incorporates an aluminum frame rather than the heavier steel frame traditionally associated with full-size 1911 pistols. This construction reduces the pistol's weight while retaining the classic single-action trigger, exposed hammer, grip safety, and manual thumb safety that have defined the 1911 platform for more than a century. The Stainless LW features a 5" barrel, stainless-finish slide, lightweight aluminum frame, and attractive reddish-brown rosewood grips. The contrasting metal finishes and warm wood tones give the pistol a distinctive appearance while preserving the traditional lines of the Government-style 1911. The pistol utilizes a short-recoil-operated, locked-breech action with a single-action trigger and detachable single-stack magazine. Its full-size configuration provides the familiar grip dimensions, controls, and handling characteristics associated with traditional 1911 pistols.
