Building upon the original Bodyguard 380 introduced in 2010, the M&P Bodyguard 380 was introduced in 2014, incorporating the familiar styling and branding of Smith & Wesson's Military & Police (M&P) series. The M&P Bodyguard 380 combines a lightweight polymer frame with a stainless steel slide and barrel, offering a slim, compact design intended for convenient concealed carry. Its rounded profile and compact dimensions make it well suited for pocket carry or inside-the-waistband holsters. Mechanically, the pistol utilizes a double-action-only, internal-hammer-fired operating system with a locked-breech, short-recoil action. This design provides a consistent trigger pull for each shot while maintaining a compact overall configuration.
