TriStar | Setter ST | 28 Gauge | 28" Barrels | Over-and-Under Shotgun The TriStar Setter ST is a traditional over-and-under double-barrel shotgun chambered in 28 gauge, combining classic sporting shotgun styling with modern features designed for upland bird hunting, clay target shooting, and recreational use. Manufactured in Turkey and imported by TriStar Arms of North Kansas City, Missouri, the Setter ST offers the appearance and handling characteristics of a traditional break-action sporting shotgun with the versatility of interchangeable choke tubes. The 28 gauge has long been appreciated among upland bird hunters and sporting shooters for its balance of light recoil, efficient shot patterns, and comfortable handling characteristics. Originally developed during the late 19th century, the 28 gauge became particularly popular for pursuing smaller upland game birds such as quail and woodcock. Its relatively light ammunition payload and manageable recoil have also contributed to its popularity among recreational clay target shooters. The Setter ST features a steel receiver, a single selective trigger, and a tang-mounted safety incorporating a barrel selector. Its over-and-under configuration positions the two barrels vertically, providing a consistent sighting plane while allowing the shooter to select which barrel fires first. The break-action design offers straightforward loading and unloading, with a traditional sporting configuration. This example features 28" barrels chambered for 2¾" 28-gauge shotshells. The shotgun presents very well overall, with only minor cosmetic imperfections. The underside of the buttstock exhibits a small scratch/ding, while the underside of the forearm has a small ding. The metal surfaces retain an attractive appearance, with no significant imperfections reported. Both bores are bright and shiny.
