Cobra | CB9SR Big Bore Derringer | 9mm | Satin Finish | Rosewood Grips The Cobra CB9SR Big Bore Derringer is a compact, double-barrel, single-action pistol chambered in 9mm Luger. Manufactured by Cobra Enterprises of Utah, the CB9 follows the traditional over-and-under derringer design popularized by the Remington Model 95 of the late 19th century, combining two barrels in an exceptionally compact handgun. Cobra Enterprises was established in 2001 and subsequently acquired tooling and manufacturing rights associated with several earlier American handgun manufacturers. The company's derringer line became known for its affordable, traditional designs offered in a variety of centerfire and rimfire chamberings. The Big Bore series represented Cobra's larger-caliber derringers, including versions chambered in 9mm, .38 Special, and other cartridges. The CB9 utilizes a break-open barrel assembly, allowing both chambers to be accessed for loading and unloading. A manually operated release lever unlocks the barrels, which pivot upward from the frame. The pistol features an exposed hammer, a single-action trigger mechanism, and a manual safety. Its compact construction eliminates the need for a detachable magazine, with each barrel holding one cartridge. This example features an attractive satin metallic finish complemented by rosewood grips, providing a traditional appearance reminiscent of classic pocket derringers. The CB9's short barrels, fixed sights, and distinctive over-and-under configuration make it readily recognizable among modern derringer designs.
