Heritage | Rough Rider | .22 LR / .22 WMR | 4.75" Barrel | Convertible Single-Action Revolver The Heritage Rough Rider is an American-made, single-action rimfire revolver inspired by the classic six-shooters of the 19th-century American West. Manufactured by Heritage Manufacturing, the Rough Rider combines traditional Western revolver styling with modern construction methods, offering the familiar appearance and operation of early Colt-style revolvers in an economical rimfire platform. The Rough Rider draws much of its inspiration from the legendary Colt Single Action Army, introduced in 1873. Like its historical predecessor, the Heritage features an exposed hammer, loading gate, fixed sights, and traditional plow-handle grip profile. Cartridges are loaded individually through the loading gate, while an ejector rod beneath the barrel is used to remove spent cases. Unlike the original Colt design, however, the Rough Rider incorporates a manual hammer-block safety, providing an additional safety feature while preserving the classic single-action operating system. This example features a 4.75" barrel, black oxide finish, and attractive cocobolo hardwood grips. Cocobolo is a dense tropical hardwood valued for its rich reddish-brown coloring and distinctive grain patterns, giving the revolver a traditional Western appearance. The contrasting wood furniture and black metal finish create a classic six-shooter aesthetic. A particularly useful feature of this example is its additional .22 WMR cylinder, allowing the revolver to be configured for either .22 Long Rifle or .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire ammunition. The interchangeable-cylinder arrangement adds versatility while maintaining the traditional six-shot single-action design.
