Ruger | LC9s Pro | 9mm Luger | Striker-Fired Semi-Automatic Pistol The Ruger LC9s Pro is a compact, American-made, striker-fired semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm Luger, developed as part of Ruger's popular line of lightweight concealed-carry handguns. The original Ruger LC9 was introduced in 2011 as a slim, hammer-fired alternative to larger defensive pistols. In 2014, Ruger introduced the redesigned LC9s, replacing the original hammer-fired mechanism with a striker-fired system that offered a shorter, lighter, and more consistent trigger pull. The LC9s Pro followed in late 2014, providing a streamlined variation of the platform with simplified external controls. The defining feature of the LC9s Pro is its elimination of the external manual thumb safety and magazine disconnect, distinguishing it from the standard LC9s. The Pro retains an internal striker blocker and integrated trigger safety while allowing the pistol to operate without a magazine inserted. Its compact construction includes a 3.12" barrel, blued alloy-steel slide, and lightweight glass-filled nylon frame with molded grip texturing. The pistol also features drift-adjustable three-dot sights, a loaded-chamber inspection port, and a slim, single-stack grip.
