J.C. Higgins | Model 20 | 12 Gauge | Pump-Action Shotgun Description The J.C. Higgins Model 20 is a vintage American pump-action shotgun sold by Sears, Roebuck & Co. under its J.C. Higgins house brand. The Model 20 was manufactured for Sears by High Standard and is closely related to High Standard's own pump-action shotgun designs. These shotguns were marketed as practical sporting arms and remain recognizable examples of the firearms once sold through Sears stores and catalogs. This example is chambered in 12 gauge and features a 28" barrel, tubular magazine, wood stock and forearm, and traditional pump-action configuration. The shotgun functions mechanically and has a shiny bore. The wood stock and forearm remain solid, but both exhibit heavy finish wear along with numerous dings and scratches from use and handling. The barrel and receiver show small scratches and general finish wear, with a few small areas of surface rust present. The receiver also exhibits noticeable edge wear where the original finish has worn from use. Overall, the shotgun shows substantial cosmetic wear while retaining solid wood and mechanical operation.
